CAMFT Certified Supervisor, and Clinical Consultant
ABOUT ME

Hello!  I'm Jennifer Calderon

I am glad you are here

I am Jennifer Calderon and I became a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT#45687) in 2008, and both a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC#796) and a CAMFT Certified Clinical Supervisor in 2014. Since that time, I have become licensed as a Marriage and Family therapist in Oregon (T1996) as of 2021, and in Nevada (4302-R) as of 2022.

My educational background includes earning a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology from Cameron University in 1999, a Master's of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in 2001, and a Specialized Certificate in Play Therapy from the University of California, San Diego in 2011. I remain current in the field of therapy as a member of the Oregon Counseling Association (ORCA), a member and AAMFT Clinical Fellow with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), and a CAMFT Certified Supervisor (2013). I'm also an active member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) - where I currently serve on the Certified Supervisor Program Committee (Committee Chair in 2024) & the Continuing Education Provider Approval Committees, and the San Fernando Valley CAMFT Chapter - where I serve as Vice President of Programs for 2023 & 2024. Additionally, I enjoy helping other professionals to broaden their clinical skills by providing continuing education learning opportunities as a CAMFT-approved CEPA provider since 2023.

After the past 24 years working in community mental health, I have been fortunate to gain experience providing individual, couple, and family therapy to children, teens, and adults in numerous settings - including residential, outpatient, school-based, and home-based settings. As a Certified Play Therapist and Evidence-Based trained practitioner, I have certified training & experience providing therapy services using Seeking Safety, Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP), Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, & Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

*Please note: I do not accept therapy clients in my practice at this time. Please call 211 or the LA County DMH Access Line (1-800-854-7771) for therapy referrals, or 911 for a life-threatening or medical emergency. *

Clinical Supervision & Consultation

Let my years of education, knowledge, and experience work for you as your Clinical Supervisor or Independent Consultant!

* If you are an AMFT or APCC in California seeking clinical supervision, or an organization seeking a contracted clinical supervisor, please visit https://app.motivohealth.com/supervisor/jennifer-calderon on the Motivo Health Platform to schedule an appointment! *

For licensed individuals, clinical consultation has been shown to reduce isolation, prevent burnout, and decrease stress related to the emotionally complex tasks experienced by practitioners of psychotherapy. Consultation with others can help you build a supportive professional network for yourself, while also keeping you current with new resources and promising therapeutic approaches.

I am available to provide either licensed group or individual consultation to you, with flexible scheduling thought the week to accommodate your needs. Most consultation services are held via HIPPA compliant telehealth platforms; however, if preferred, I am also able to meet at your site for an additional fee.

Don't go it alone - consider clinical consultation today!

CAMFT CERTIFIED SUPERVISION

Why Become a CAMFT Certified Supervisor?

The CAMFT Certified Supervisor Program is a voluntary program—unique to the needs of supervisors and supervisees within the State of California, which goes above and beyond the BBS requirements for supervision.

The program is multifaceted and includes coursework, supervision, supervision consultation, and a consultation summary. In order to participate in the program, you must have been licensed as a therapist in California for a minimum of two years.

The skills needed to be an effective supervisor are different than the skills needed to be an effective clinician.

The CAMFT Certified Supervisor education - along with the support & consultation I can provide to you as a CAMFT Certified Supervisor - will prepare you to provide quality clinical supervision & meet your full potential as a clinical supervisor!
